1. The first Web 2.0 App I looked at was Soshiku. This is an application designed for the teacher to post assignments, notes and due dates.
2. The next Web 2.0 App was Engrade. This is an application where teachers can post their students grade online and the student and parent can see what their grade is in each individual course.
3. Quizlet was the third app that I looked at. This is a website where you can post online quizzes for the students to take. This will help them learn new material and give the teacher a better understanding if they are catching on to what is being taught.
4. The fourth app I used was Letterpop. With this app teachers can maintain communication with parents. This will help keep parents up to date with what is taking place in the classroom.
5. ToonDoo is the final app that I used. This is an online education game website. Students can go to this website and play games online that are educational and useful to topics that are being taught in class.

After reading the article Prensky, M. (2007) How to Teach With Technology -- keeping both teachers and students comfortable in an era of exponential change. BECTA's Emerging Technologies for Learning, Vol 2, I do not understand why teachers would not want to adopt this technology and incorporate it into their lesson plans and teaching. Technology such as, cell phones and computers are the new way of life nowadays, so why keep our children from learning how to use them? I feel that incorporating this technology into teaching would really benefit the students. The world is changing its time for the ways of teaching to change too!

I chose to interview a 5th grade teacher back from home. She said that she would be interested in a section where she could communicate with her students parents such as a newsletter, an assignment section where she could post assignments and an online grade book where students could check on their grades throughout the grading period.

Web Log #3

The 2.0 application that would help me would be an application based on assignments, such as blackboard. That way I could look back and read over my assignments and work ahead if wanted. My goals are to learning how to better my teaching skills throughout this course and be able to take new skills learned with me to my own classroom one day. In order to learn I need hand on activities and must study in order to receive a good grade.
